The Recording Club TEAM · SEPTEMBER 2026
FROM GREG · FOR EVERYONE WHO RUNS THIS PLACE

Help me build the place you want to work.

We've lost good people this year. I don't want to guess at why, and I don't want to fix it with a memo. This page is me asking, properly and anonymously, what would actually make this a place you stay.

01 · THE HONEST PART

What I've heard, straight.

  • Too much lands on too few people, and covering for each other has meant losing your own time off.
  • Sixty-hour weeks are real here. I can't shrink the work right now, so everything on this page has to make the hours better without adding to them.
  • When you've given input, you haven't always seen it change anything. That ends here. What you say on this page gets a public answer with a date on it.
  • Pay is not on this ballot. It deserves a real answer, and a vote against perks is one it would always win. You'll hear about pay from me directly, before these results go out on October 2.
02 · HAPPENING NO MATTER HOW YOU VOTE

Three things are already decided.

Family meal, monthly

One long table, everyone, on the clock. Never on your night off. The first one is in September, and the date lands with the schedule.

A real conversation with each of you

Not a review. Me asking what would make you stay, and writing down what I owe you afterward.

Results, in public, with dates

What you say here gets published to the team within two weeks: what's being built, what isn't, and why. If something dies later, I'll say that too.

03 · IN YOUR WORDS FIRST

Before any menu, what's true?

04 · THEN SPEND YOUR 100 POINTS

Ten ideas. 100 points. Loud beats polite.

Put big numbers on the few things that would actually change your year. Forty points on one idea tells me more than ten on four. Zeros are information too.

05 · HOW THIS STAYS SAFE TO ANSWER

No names. No detective work.

No names, no logins

This page doesn't ask who you are, and there's nothing to sign into. The name field below exists only if you want a direct reply. Leave it blank otherwise.

Who sees the raw answers

Greg, and no one else. Results are shared as totals and themes only: no quotes that could identify you, no breakdowns by role. We're fifteen people, and role breakdowns would out everyone.

No detective work

You have my word in writing that nobody tries to figure out who said what. Answer as if no one's watching, because no one is.

06 · WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

You'll see the results, with dates.

  • TWO WEEKSResults go to the whole team: totals, themes, and the decisions on what's being built first, what isn't, and why.
  • FIRST FAMILY MEALWe talk about it in person, at the table, on the clock.
  • EVERY QUARTERA public scoreboard on everything launched, including anything that died. Killed programs get announced, not buried.

That's it. Punch it in.

Takes about five minutes. Closes Friday, September 18.

Heard. For real this time.

Your answers are in, with no name attached unless you left one. Results and decisions go to the whole team within two weeks, and we'll talk at the first family meal.
